We've Got To Do WHAT With The Boat Trailer?!?

OK, the shed's down, the wood is stacked, and our boat is free. Sort of. Well, actually there's a hole or two in the bottom, the engine hasn't started, and it's still sitting on a rusted out, busted up hulk of a worthless trailer. Now what?

Time to get that boat up off the trailer. We groan and grunt and lift and prop and begin to set the boat up on timbers to get it off the trailer. Jack it up a little here, shim it a little there, and slowly but surely the boat starts to rise!

Finally there is enough clearance, and with many manly noises we drag the trailer out from under the boat and hoot in triumph!

I think this pose of Keith's is my favorite! Well done! We conquered the trailer! Sort of... kind of.... anyway, you either know what I'm talking about or you don't!

As we continue to prop up the boat and shim it into place we notice water pouring out the bottom (look closely!), and it's not coming out of the plugged hole where that is SUPPOSED to happen. Paul starts planning his patchwork to fix the largest of the two holes that we found.

Looks like this is the culprit. The aluminum was sheared right off by the weight of the collapsing shed.

Definitely time to get rid of the trailer and find a new one!! And last, but not least, I leave you with a close up of Paul's excellent patchwork on the bottom of the boat! Perhaps he'll tell the story of where the patch came from!
